Nasir-ol- Molk Mosque

Nasir ol Molk Mosque is located in Gowde Araban quarter, in the south of Zand Street, near Shah Cheraq mausoleum. It dates back to Qajar era. The construction of this mosque started on 1876 A.D. by the order of Hasan Ali Khan and it took 12 years to complete. Two of the best Iranian architects, Ostad Mirza Hasan Me’mar and Mirza Rezay Kashipaz Shirazi were responsible for building this mosque.

Nasir ol Molk Mosque is one of the rare mosques in the world that its impressive interior design with colored glasses, has made this place a masterpiece. When the sun light passes through the glasses the colorful lights reflects on the patterns of the walls or the carpets and make a world of colors.

Nasir ol Molk Mosque has two porches on the North and South in front of each other and they are decorated with very delicate stalactite works and arabesque designs but the North Porch is more attractive.

The most beautiful part of Nasir-ol-Molk Mosque is Morvarid Porch (Pearl Porch). This magnificent porch is in the North praying hall, with the most decorates and beautifully designed. Monochrome turquoise tiles and the carved stone columns and polychrome designs on the wall is used for decorating it. In the past Morvarid Porch was called “Pan Kase” and the meaning is the notch in the shell that contains the pearl.
