Pasargad Royal Complex

Pasarged was the first capital of Achaemenid Empire during the kingdom of Cyrus the Great and constructed between 559 to 530 BC..

Pasargad consisted of a number of palaces that actually it was a collection of gardens noun as four gardens and also the tomb of Cyrus.

The first monument after entering Pasargad complex is the tomb of the Cyrus the Great. The design of the Mausoleum is attributed to the mixture of different cultures such as: Mesopotamia, Elamite Ziggurates and Urartu. The six rows of steps and also the stone chamber is built of big blocks of white lime stones.

The Private Palace: It was the residential palace of Cyrus the Great, between 530 B.C. to 535 B.C..

Darvaze Palace (Gate Palace): This palace is on the eastern side of Pasargad area and consists of a columned hall. On one of the frameworks of the gate, there is a bas-relief of a human body with four wings and a hat with horns.

Audience Palace – The first base of United Nations:

Audience Palace or Reception Palace of Cyrus has the area of 2472 square meters including a central hall with eight columns.

This palace was used for receiving guests and ambassadors from different nations by the king. Audience Palace is the first base of United Nations from 25 centuries ago because, for the first time human rights, freedom and equality thoughts was stated in this palace.
