Vakil Bath house(Hammam)

Vakil Bath house (Hammam) is one of the constructions of Karim Khan era in Shiraz and was constructed in his command in Shah square quarter, next to Vakil mosque.

Vakil Bath house ( Hammam)  was a public bath house and consists of 4 parts connected to each other.

The interesting part of Vakil bath house is the alcove, specially designed for the king.

The cool room (frigidarium) is an octagonal space with eight stone columns in the middle with a vaulted ceiling which is decorated with plasterworks illustrating religious and folkloric stories.

Under the ground of warm room there are narrow ducts for conducting the warm air and steam for making it warm.

Vakil Bath house after many changes from restaurant and carpet gallery, finally became a museum with 30 wax sculptures, showing the culture and procedure of bathing on that time.
