This Bazar was built in the order of Karim Khan zand and now it is located in the center of Shiraz. The mosque and Bathhouse (Hamaam) of Vakil are next to bazar too.

Vakil Bazar is the heart of Shiraz and all the commercial activities takes place in it. It is close to Isfahan Gate and continues to the entries of old bazars.

Vakil Bazar is a long, good structure Bazar and one of the best Zandiyeh sites which remains well and sound till today. It is said that the design of ancient bazar of Lar (remaining from Safavid era) was inspiration of Vakil bazar for Karim Khan Zand.

From architectural sight, Vakil Bazar has three spaces: 1) passing space (for customers to pass) 2) shop frontages (with average height of 2 steps from the ground 3) the shop areas.  There are 74 vaulted opening in the market place and a high-rise crossroad (Charsouq) in the middle which connects the west and east markets.

Also different parts of bazar are named after businesses taking place there such as: drapers Bazar, tailors Bazar and etc.

Cultural and Heritage organization has registered Vakil Bazar as Iran historical site with the number of 924.
